Feeling good about yourself, or the so-called self-acceptance, is key to having a better life. Obviously, some people have that easily, while some of us struggle with the feelings of worthiness and self-love.
Gratitude is certainly what makes the difference. Generally, some of us are naturally more grateful for what we have. So naturally, we also get more things to be grateful for.
This is not only approved by Law of Attraction, but by science, psychology and neuroscience findings as well! For example, research (quoting the famous Power of Vulnerability) shows that the people who enjoy life and live it amidst love and connection to others, thrive best.
This is evidently because they feel WORTHY of love and connection to others. That's an inner feeling that comes to them, because they accept who they are.
Law of Attraction (LOA), on the other hand, says that we get what we think about. So by thinking negatively, we attract more negative stuff and "proof" that we're not worthy. Then we wonder why we can't manifest what we truly want.
For this reason, we need to actively work to break that cycle to manifest what we really want.
This process includes working on our personality to make us the person that effortlessly attracts the manifestations. Self-work which helps manifesting our desires also naturally includes self-acceptance.
What can we do to accept who we are? Self acceptance is about self-love and it comes with work on the self, without judgment and criticism. And it can be hard at times, but it pays off.
